Ciudad Quesada is one of the largest urbanizations in the south of the Costa Blanca, designed and founded back by a local entrepreneur named Justo Quesada, as long ago as in 1972. All these years, urbanization has been intensively built up, expanded, and overgrown with infrastructure. There are more than 15 thousand people, mostly Europeans, living here today.
From the very beginning of the construction, the main buyers of real estate in Ciudad Quesada were the British, Germans, Dutch and Scandinavians. A little later, they were joined by buyers from Russia and other states of the post-Soviet area. As a result, the proportion of foreigners living in urbanization was over 70%.
Ciudad Quesada: Infrastructure

Ciudad Quesada belongs administratively to the municipality of Rojales (the province of Alicante, the Valencian Community) – a small cozy town located 7-8 km from the sea and sandy beaches of Guardamar del Segura. The urbanization is located in its southern part on the border with the natural park Laguna de La Mata y Torrevieja.
Today, Ciudad Quesada is a huge area built up with residential complexes and country residences. There are practically no high-rise buildings here, and the housing stock is represented mainly by bungalows, townhouses, cottages and villas.
Ciudad Quesada is different from our usual towns and villages in its layout. There is no main square that serves as an administrative center, but there are several zones remote from each other that have become centers of activity – sports, shopping, gourmet, etc.
One of the centers of urbanization is the popular golf club La Marquesa Golf, founded in 1989 and gained immense popularity among both amateurs and professional players. In its vicinity, construction is active and ongoing, this also applies to villas – ones of the best in this part of the coast, and besides, there are many bars, restaurants, and shops.
The second center of urbanization is the hotel La Laguna Spa & Golf with an excellent restaurant and SPA area.
And finally, the third center of Ciudad Quesada is the central street of Avenida de las Naciones, where the best local bars, cafes and pubs are concentrated. By the way, one of the best restaurants of Italian cuisine O’Pazzo Italiano with an incredible cozy and homely atmosphere is located some distance from the busy streets, in the very center of urbanization on Calle las Mimosas.
On the territory of the urbanization there are several large supermarkets, furniture stores, Aqua Park Ciudad Quesada, go-karting, a mini golf course in the Greenlands Sport Club, shopping centres and entertainment complexes. Sports enthusiasts can enjoy several tennis courts and the Quesada Fitness Gym. On Sundays, a market is held 4 km from Ciudad Quesada in the neighboring urbanization of El Raso, where, in addition to clothes, shoes and manufactured goods, an excellent selection of seasonal fruits and vegetables can always be found.
Why people like Ciudad Quesada, then it is because it’s peaceful and quiet. The urbanization is located at a distance from main roads and noisy cities, a measured life flows here all year round. At the same time, it is located in an area with excellent transport links, so the trip to the nearest big cities of Guardamar del Segura (9 km), Torrevieja (12 km), Rojales (4 km), as well as the sea and endless sandy beaches takes a few minutes. It is 40 minutes drive from the capital of the province – Alicante – a major shopping and transport center, and the neighboring region of Murcia is an hour drive.
The Alicante International Airport, which annually serves a multimillion flow of passengers, is located just 40 km from the urbanization – less than an hour by car. Another airport – the Murcia International Airport, built recently and currently serving mainly domestic European flights, is 60 km away.
The landscape of the urbanization is hilly, beautiful views of the coast, the salt lake Laguna de La Mata, endless citrus fields, mountains and the sea are offered from high points. Two lakes forming a natural park create a special mild microclimate for this area, which is characterized by very rare frosts in winter and gentle heat in August-September.
Ciudad Quesada: Beaches

As for beaches, the closest to Ciudad Quesada ones are placed in Guardamar del Segura, a small resort town located on the coast itself. Its 9 km coastline includes several beaches: Els Vivers, La Babilònia, Centre, La Roqueta, El Montcayo, El Camp and Les Ortigues. Among them, there are both well-maintained urban beaches, awarded annually with blue flags – the highest European award for cleanliness and quality, and wild – secluded and poorly populated even in high season. Some of the beaches are adjacent to sand dunes overgrown with squat pines and belong to a protected area.
Just south, the beaches of Torrevieja start. The closest one to Ciudad Quesada is the sandy beach of La Mata, stretching for 2.3 km. And in the city itself, one can relax on three popular city beaches: Los Locos, Del Cura and Los Naufragos. All these beaches are sandy, have a gentle descent to the sea and are ideal for families with children. In high season, these city beaches are crowded, so it will be more comfortable to relax on the beach of La Mata.
Ciudad Quesada: Real Estate

Ciudad Quesada is a quite expensive urbanization. The average price per square meter of housing in Ciudad Quesada on the secondary market in May 2022 was 2.386 m2. As we noted above, the housing stock is mainly represented by individual housing – bungalows, townhouses, cottages and villas.
On the territory of urbanization, there are several residential complexes where various apartments can be found. The price for a 2-bedroom apartment starts from € 58,000.
Small bungalows and duplexes can be bought for 75,000 €. Prices for more spacious bungalows and townhouses start from 90,000 €. A small semi-detached cottage will cost 125,000 € and more.
A detached house with a plot can be purchased for 160,000 €. Individual houses of new construction with a plot and a swimming pool will cost from 300,000 €. Prices for villas start from 500,000€, and for luxury villas – from 2,250,000 €.
