In recent years, communal areas in residential complexes have undergone radical changes: they now include swimming pools, gyms, coworking spaces and social areas. Today, this evolution is taking another step forward by considering an important member of many families – pets.
The future The Grove residential complex, developed by Praxfer Homes in San Pedro de Alcántara (Marbella), will feature a spa specifically designed for animal care and hygiene, according to an announcement published on the Idealista portal. The aim of this space is to “make owners’ daily care routines easier and highlight the complex’s ‘pet-friendly’ approach, adapting to the reality of modern families”.
It is worth noting that, according to the “AEDPAC Barometer 2025”, 52% of Spanish families live with pets, while 86% of those who have a pet consider it a full member of the family. This trend is particularly noticeable in Andalusia, which, with almost 3.3 million registered pets, is the autonomous community with the largest pet population in Spain.
A New Approach to Residential Complex Amenities
The new service demonstrates how modern residential complexes are beginning to pay greater attention to the daily lives of their residents, their habits and different forms of living together. In this sense, having an area dedicated to pet care eliminates the need to travel elsewhere and makes it possible to care for them without taking up space at home. This is especially convenient in summer, when walks outdoors, on the beach and in the fresh air become more frequent.
The commercial response has been very positive from the outset. The project has already reached 30% in sales even before access was opened to international agencies, confirming strong demand and market confidence in this area of Marbella, with prices for available apartments starting from €595,000.
This spa will become an integral part of the project – a concept that brings certain services typically associated with a five-star hotel into a residential complex. The idea is to bring health, sport, work, leisure and family life together in a single space.
The Grove Amenities and Location
The Grove will comprise 139 apartments and will offer a wellness centre, gym, workspace, Pilates studio, communal areas, a play area for young children, four saltwater swimming pools and a rooftop terrace with unique views.
The location of the complex reinforces this outdoor lifestyle. It is a ten-minute walk from the beach in San Pedro de Alcántara and will have an exclusive area with sun loungers right by the sea. It will also be located a five-minute drive from Puerto Banús and close to sports facilities, golf courses, international schools, as well as shopping and dining establishments.
