According to a study by the Idealista portal, almost 20% of apartments and houses in Spain sold in less than a week in December 2022. A further 15% of residential properties took between a week and a month to sell, 21% between one and three months, and the rest stayed on the market for longer.
In Spain’s provincial capitals quick sales are more common, especially in large towns. Granada leads in this respect, with 34% of properties finding a buyer in under seven days. It is followed by Pontevedra (31%), Salamanca (30%), Tarragona (29%), Santa Cruz de Tenerife (28%), Lleida and Albacete (27% each). In Barcelona the figure is 26%, and in Madrid 25%. The lowest share of “quick sales” was recorded in Teruel (3%), and in four more cities (Ceuta, Zamora, Lugo, Ciudad Real) it is below 10%.
At provincial level, Granada (30%), Salamanca and Almería (29% each) stand out for “quick sales”. They make up more than 20% of the total in Albacete (27%), Lleida (26%), Jaén and Madrid (24% each), Barcelona and Toledo (23% each), Murcia and Seville (21% each).
